A fairytale,
known by few;
About a girl,
A girl who knew.

The little lost girl,
Who wasn't understood;
Who tried and tried,
Like most folk would.

Her father,
a farmer, a good one at that;
Wheat in his mouth,
Straw drawn hat.

Her mother,
Nobody knows about her:
Disappeared in the night,
With her coat of fur.

No siblings to protect her,
She lies, day in day out;
Subject to Hate and fear,
Emotions she could do without.

Her mind vacant,
Sanity left before;
Hopes and dreams crushed,
They've been washed up on the shore.

Life moves around her,
not noticing her pain;
Her only hope is fate,
to keep away the rain.

Tragedy after tragedy,
her poor father dies;
Leaving her on the street,
Without so much as goodbye.

Fending for herself,
Singing in bars;
Her one goal in life
is to reach the stars.

By sixteen she's famous,
living the dream;
Paparazzi her family,
A thought that makes her scream.

Taken over by drugs,
Alcohol as well;
She stumbled about,
An empty shell.

Career destroyed by media freaks,
she drank her money away;
Became a criminal,
A last resort to pay.

Prison her home,
No thoughts of the outside world;
Visiting times lonely,
Sat with her hair curled.

She waited for years,
Till finally he came along;
held her hand and told her it would be okay,
A perfect stranger keeping her strong.

Her boy beside her,
Bouquet being thrown;
A white dress hanging tight,
Her size confidence had grown.

A house in the country,
with a white picket fence;
A large bump was all she could see,
She had a natural motherly sense.

Two kids, a dog and a working man,
Her ultimate dreams came true;
Even after all that had happened,
This could happen to you.

Moral of the story: There is never no hope.
